I don't have many pictures of me being pregnant. Here are the two that I have. I know I look miserable but the truth is I loved being pregnant, but I am glad it's over! I was huge and very uncomfortable towards the end, which makes sense since Hayden weighed in at 11 lbs and 5 oz.

It's crazy how fast time is passing, it's hard to believe Hayden is already 1 month old. She is such a good baby, and is very laid back and adjusting well to life. Hannah and Marshall are doing well too!

Well folks, I know it's been awhile but as you can see I have been busy! We just added a new spirit to our family and we are so proud to announce her and welcome her.

Hayden Jean was born 3-16-10, via c-section. She weighed in at a whopping 11 lbs and 5 oz. Now, pick up your jaw....I know she was huge! We had a feeling she may be large as her big brother surprised us at his birth weighing 10 lbs 11oz, and that was 2 weeks early. Everything went smoothly with the delivery and I am currently in the hospital recovering, first c-section (what an experience). I can't wait to go home and be a big happy family! Hannah and Marshall are so excited about the new baby.

Upon viewing the pictures you will see in the last one that Hannah is crying. We had such a tender moment, her and I. She explained to me that they were happy tears and that she is so happy that Hayden has finally arrived and belongs to our family. Hannah has such a sweet sensitive soul and it melted my heart.

I can't fully express my joy and gratitude as a Mom. I am so blessed and thank my Heavenly Father that he has trusted us to be great Parents to our little ones. My heart is so full! Life is Good!

Hopefully with some time off from work I can dedicate some time to blog more. I have missed it and have so much to share...Josh is an amazing Man!

With Valentine's Day around the corner...I am feeling the love. Now, I am not one to brag much...Ha! But, I am loving life right now and just want to share my top 10 loves! In no particular order.....

My Husband- Best Friend- Amazing Father
Josh is an amazing Man who I love sharing my life with. He makes each day a dream come true for me. Sappiness aside, he is fun and wonderful, he is truely my best friend!

Family- They are what makes us!

The Kitchen- Who wouldn't love all that counter and cabinet space? It is the gathering place for our friends and family.

Marshall- My sweet boy. He is growing up so fast, he is so silly and laughs a lot!

Hannah- My little doll. She is such a sweet sensitive young lady. Very smart too!

Our new Home- "Our home is filled with dreams and love and endless blessings from above"!

What an adventure building a new home was. We knew we were outgrowing our town home and needed some space for the kids and future kids..(no plans yet on baby no. 3)so we started our search. We found a lovely community only about a mile from our current place. We fell in love with it immediately. This home is a blessing, and so many things happened in order for us to achieve this dream. The kids love having their own room and a big backyard to run around and play in.

I am so sorry that I have neglected my blog! I have a lot of excuses. In October, we moved into our new house. November, we went to Jamaica just the two of us(meaning no kids) We went for Chris(bro in law) and Ashley's(now sis in law) wedding. December, Christmas...do I need to say more?

My life hasn't slowed down in years. It only gets busier and I learn to juggle more.

It's been 1 week since we moved to our temporary home and we have to say; We miss our old neighborhood. Hannah has so many friends there. We are trying to make sure we visit and let her play as often as possible. We took some cute pictures of Hannah with her little buddies! Now she can remember them always.

Lazy Summer Days....

I know its been awhile and I promised I'd do better. But I do have an excuse. We are moving. Many posts ago I wrote about our new home. Its near completion but not quite. Also,we have decided to keep our town home and rent it out instead of selling during this terrible housing market. We were able to find a tenant however they needed to move in before our new home is completed. We are about 30 days out. I was lucky and fortunate to find an in-law Apartment that we could move into for a month (Craigslist Rocks). So we are now in the process of moving to our temporary home. It's amazing how much Josh and I have acquired in our 7 years of being married. It didn't seem like much until we started boxing it all up. Speaking of boxes another great deal from Craigslist! I know...who knew you could get boxes on that site. Thanks to cousin Nicole for the great tip. We scored on about 100 boxes(assorted sizes) for.....$20! No joke! We feel very blessed that things have been working out so well for us. My other bragging point is we decided to store half of our stuff while in our small space so I went searching online for deals. I was able to get a coupon online for a POD. I saved 20% on that. I am loving bargains!
The kids are handling the change very well. Hannah has been a great little helper occupying Marshall while we pack.

In other news; We recently returned from our annual trip up North for the Festa! We had such a good time. It certainly made a difference with our new ride. Oh yeah, we are now the proud owners of a Town and Country Mini Van. Its awesome! I was so against vans for the longest time but you have got to see what it comes with. I am not going to go down the list of awesome features it has because I will be here all night. It definitely makes long trips way more bearable. So besides the drive up we had a ton of fun re-connecting with our family. We stopped in New Haven , CT and visited Chris and Ashley. They have the cutest Apartment and they were kind enough to let us crash there for the night. Hannah was so excited to have a sleep over at their house.

The Festa was as always great! Good Food, Good Music, and Good Company.

My work is keeping me very busy. I still love what I am doing. I can see myself with this Company for many years to come. We are projecting our revenue and company size to double in the next year. It's exciting to be in an environment where there is a lot of potential and job security.

Well that's all for now. I will post some pics of our cute Apartment once we get a little settled. I will also post some pics of our new house. We have some great photo's of the progress. From a pile of dirt to our lovely house. So stay tuned for that!

We're Back!!!

So we've actually been home for weeks but you know....I am a procrastinator. We went to Sweet Home Alabma for my baby brother's big day. He and his wife Hannah tied the knot. The trip was great. I was a little tired because I had just gotten back from training in Myrtle Beach. Sorry no pictures I left the camera at home...but let me tell you the Hotel I stayed at was so nice. I had a great view of the ocean from my room on the 8th floor. Anyways needless to say I was pretty exhausted from the trip. I got home just in time to do laundry and pack for the trek to Bama! The kids were great on the drive. We made a gazillion stops just to break it up. First stop was Blacksburg,VA home of the VT Hokies. (Josh's Alma Mater) We haven't been down there since the tragedy a little over a year ago. We wanted to see the monument on campus and hit the book store for VT paraphernalia. We then continued on to Knoxville,TN for our first nights slumber. We checked into a lovely Marriott where we were given the last room in the house. It was a handicap accessible room with a roll in shower and someone else's belongings! Yeah our room was dirty. I called and had Housekeeping up to clean the room. Very disappointing. Marriott is better than that...for the most part. We slept in since we didn't close our eyes until after midnight. Again, my kids so good. Hannah loves Hotels! It is such a treat for her.

Back on the road to our final destination...Huntsville AL! But wait we have top stop and look at Fireworks! There are so many Fireworks stores you can't even count em. We didn't buy any just browsing.

We finally arrived at our hotel in Huntsville another lovely Marriott. My perks rock! we had just enough time to freshen up and get to Mom and Dad's for the rehearsal dinner. Here is where I met Hannah my new sister in law, and Jenn also my new sister in law. My brother's have found themselves true southern bells! So cute! Both of them were so warm and endearing. I have to say I love them because they are just so great. I am happy that they are apart of our family!

Alabama was a packed few days. The Wedding and Reception were fantastic. The humidity not so much! I will post pictures rather than blab about them. Isn't Hannah a beautiful Bride and my Brother is very handsome. We were happy we made the trip to share that great day!

Our trip home was fun too. We stopped in Chatanooga, TN. Who knew that was such a great little city. So family friendly and really quite cute. We were able to go downtown and walk around the park right in the middle of downtown. Hannah played in a fountain and we just had a lot of fun!

On the last part of the trip home we stopped at another fireworks stand this time we bought some. Yeah!! The 4th is gonna be great!

New Job!

Many of my friends have been asking about my new job so I thought I would share a little about it. The name of the Company is Bridgestreet Worldwide, Its a Corporate Housing Firm. My job as a Guest Services Coordinator is to do just about anything the guest wants. When a client relocates or is on a contract we find housing for them. We arrange everything from hooking up the cable to furnishing the Apartment. Once the guest moves in I am their point of contact for everything housing related. What I've learned in my 3 weeks there is that everyday is different and every guest is high maintenance. The actual company that I work for is very prestigious and reputable, which is why I couldn't resist the opportunity. (Well that and a much bigger paycheck) Marriott (doesn't pay well) has given me skills and training which has made my transition to Bridgestreet so much easier. They didn't hold my hand much, I pretty much jumped right in and have been working hard ever since. The trip I am going on is for Guest Relations Training. A lot of the clients we are dealing with are people relocating and so we need to be sensitive to that. Moving is stressful especially with a wife and kids in tow. I am an army brat so this is all too familiar to me.
So far I love the new gig, it's a challenge and it keeps me on my toes. I still work for Marriott about once a month that way I can keep the great hotel benefits that we have come to love and cherish.
So there you have it!

Where have I been, you ask?

I haven't been a blogging Mom lately because I started a new job a couple of weeks ago. Its a great new opportunity but it really is difficult finding time to keep this blog updated. Please bare with me through this adjustment. I promise when I get back on my toes I will do a better job. I had a wonderful Mother's Day and have enjoyed having the evening's and weekends with my hubby and kids. I have a great support network making this work for us. Stacey my friend who watches the kids Mon-Thurs and My in-laws have been helping with watching the kids on Friday. They do an amazing job.

Josh is an outstanding Dad! I already knew that but he has really stepped up lately. He is the one getting the kids up and at em, taking them to daycare. He never complains and is so supportive of his Corporate Wife!! I love that guy!

My kids are also pretty cool! I mean they are the ones we are doing all of this for. We want to give our kids the best things in life. They are the happiest, funniest, cutest kids in the world..and I have pictures to prove it....Just look for yourselves.

So now you have a very quick explanation of my lack of blogging. I promise I will get back to normal soon.

Also, I'm not bragging or anything but my new job is sending me Myrtle beach for training. I am nervous to be away from my kids and hubby for a whopping 3 nights! Maybe I can take some nice pictures while I am there. Stay Tuned!

We had such an eventful weekend...so much to cover.
First of all, the picture of Hannah "potty training" was taken over 2 years ago. Its just a funny picture from the archives. You all give me too much credit...I wish I could say I thought of that but it wasn't me! Josh is the one who posed that pic and also photographed it. He really has the best sense of humor!

On to the events!
We have been pre-approved and have started the purchase of a new construction home! we are very excited to think we will have a yard and separate bedrooms for the kids finally! More pictures and details to come....

Hannah had a wonderful soccer game! She played so hard and really enjoyed herself. We think she is starting to figure out the whole thing. It was a very hot day and so she got very tuckered out easily. Her team won!

And the last main event of the weekend is...... drum roll please.....

Marshall is walking! He officially took 4 steps and to me that is walking. He is so proud of himself and keeps trying! I know I said I wasn't looking forward to him walking but really its so fun to watch him have a little more independence.

So folks there you have it a busy weekend and a busy week on the horizon. I start my new job tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes! I'm a little nervous. Its like the first day of school. I've picked out my clothes for the whole week....haha!

I'm a Soccer Mom!

Hannah had her first Soccer game on Saturday. This is the first time she's ever played on a sports team. We are very proud of her even though she was overcome by fear at the game. The first half of the game she was too scared and a little confused. But once she was formally introduced to her teammate Bethany she was ready to play. She mostly chased Bethany which was fine because Bethany was chasing the ball. It looked like Hannah new what she was doing! With a little more practice and experience I think she will be an awesome soccer player. As a side note, when some of our friends heard Hannah was gonna be playing soccer they teased us and said "its sliced oranges for you now"! And wouldn't you know her first snack after the game was sliced oranges! Ha ha!!

Jury Duty!!! Crazy I know! I'm not sure what to think? I got my summons in the mail yesterday to report for Jury Duty sometime in May.I'm having mixed feelings about this... I'm not very educated on the law or our Judicial System. I don't think I'm qualified for this. But then again I'm kinda excited because this is an opportunity to see how it all works. And there's always the cliche "its your civic duty". What do you think? Would you go or would you find a way to become exempt?

So now Marshall is sick! This is exhausting. I'm tired and cranky because I worked so hard to keep everything clean and bacteria free. I kept Hannah away from everyone. I thought I out smarted this stupid stomach bug. When Babies get sick its even worse...they can't communicate their needs. This bug comes on quick, no signs or clues just all the sudden they throw up. I won't give you all the details lets just say I am very tired and ready for a break!

Hannah had a really bad stomach bug since last Thursday. It pretty much knocked her out for about 4 days. Along with throwing up she had a really high fever. But now its Monday and she is feeling soooo much better. She had been cooped up in the house all weekend so I sent her on a play date with her Aunt Kiki to the nail salon. She got her nails done and I think they look so cute. Kiki is such an amazing Aunt she really helps out in more ways than she'll ever know. Hannah and Marshall are so lucky to have such a cool and fun Aunt. I'm lucky too because she's my sister!

7 Random Facts!

My friend e-mailed me and I've been tagged with this fun little task. I'm to share 7 random facts about myself. So here goes....

1- I was born in the Netherlands. Lived there for 2 years but I don't remember any of it. I supposedly had dual citizenship until I was 18 years old...I'm not sure if thats true or not.

2- I pierced my tongue on one of many trips to Las Vegas in college. I figured it wasn't permanent like a tattoo and it could easily be concealed after all it was in my mouth. That didn't last long maybe a year. I don't regret it, just something I wouldn't recommend anyone doing....it hurt really bad! Really Bad!

3- I was bit by a German Shepherd named Mr. Lovable...he tore off my top lip. I was just trying to give him a kiss. Seriously, it was embarrassing I had to start the 1st grade with a major boo boo on my face.

4- I have been working supporting myself since I was 11 years old. I had a paper route for 2 years. Then I babysat until I was old enough to get a real job. My parents had 6 kids to clothe and feed. I'm sure they were happy not to have to worry about my expenses. They provided me with a roof over my head, food to eat, and a lot of love. I didn't mind being independent with my own check book in 6th grade.

5- I was voted "best smile" for my senior year High School Superlatives. Surprising since the incident with Mr. Lovable.

6- I had my driver's license suspended for about 8 months and didn't even know it. I was late paying a ticket and it looks like they suspended it...I only found out when Josh and I were getting a life insurance policy...our Insurance Agent called me and said "Why is your driver's license suspended"? Three trips later to the DMV and I've got it back.

7- I seem to have the best luck meeting and seeing celebrities...seriously.
I work at a hotel so that helps. My favorite of all times was Justin Timberlake!!!!I stood next to him at Starbucks and my knees shook while he waited for his Vanilla late. He let me cut in front of him to buy my bottled water. We had a connection....just kidding!
Also on the list: Dave Chapelle, Bret Michael's, The Allman Brothers, Howard Dean, and Barack Obama.

So that's it...I'm sure there are many more but I'm kinda tired of trying to think of them. Now I will tag many of my blog friends and get them to play along!

What a Day!

So all night I had the worst case of heartburn. I tried all my usual remedies but nothing seemed to work. I finally was up and out of bed at 4:30am hoping it would go away. I watched an hour of TV and was so frustrated because my alarm was set to go off at 6:00am for work. I laid down again at 5:30 hoping to get a little more shut eye...no such luck. The pain was too unbearable to lay down. Then all the sudden my heartburn was gone. However now it was time for me to go to work. Josh convinced me there was no way I could go to work and function off of 4 hours of sleep. So I called work and told them I'd be in a little late. No big deal. Then 8:00 am came and I wake up to Hannah telling me her belly hurts. Next thing I know we're running to the bathroom and she's yacking in the toilet. Anyone who knows me knows I have the worst gag reflux...so then I was running to the other bathroom. Yes I know I am a sympathetic thrower upper! So now I'm calling work to tell them that my daughter is sick and I'm taking the day off. They are probably thinking I'm a big liar. But like I really care. So now I'm playing the nurse. Its the worst feeling when your kids are sick. I just want to make it all go away and make her feel better. Surprisingly and thankfully no more gag reflux for me! So like I titled this "What a Day" and its only 12:30pm.

So my friend Stacy who watches the kids for me had an unfortunate event take place this last week. The only reason I am posting this is because Stacy has the best sense of humor out of anyone I know and she will appreciate this PSA(Public Service Announcement). Her 3 year old got a hold of some scissors and did a number on her hair! These pictures will show you why you should never leave scissors out where your kids can get a hold of them....By the way Stacy cried a little( I would too)! Her little girl whose hair she has been waiting to grow out is now sporting a Cindy Lauper 80's do! Do not judge her it could happen to anyone...just be warned! I personally love the new haircut Ella is sporten its so RAD!!!

Marshall Madness

This was a very fun Easter!

After the kids indulged in candy from their baskets we went to church. After church we went to spend the rest of the day with Grandma Shar and Grandpa. Surprisingly the Easter Bunny had baskets for the kids there too! We had a little Easter egg hunt and a lot of fun!

When we got home after a long day of fun we sat down as a family and watched the movie that the Easter Bunny brought for Hannah..."Enchanted" What a darling movie.
We had such a wonderful Easter weekend. In the end I know and feel blessed to have such a wonderful family. I hope everyone had as good of time as we did.

Tonight, Josh and I (mostly Josh) made home-made sushi! It was so yummy! We however could not eat it all. We have been sushi fans for years and we have a favorite Japanese Restaurant that is to die for. We try to go about once a week but lately my work schedule has prohibited such excursions for us. Josh has done a lot of research on how its made...and lets just say he has become a novice and is no longer a amateur. We are becoming very domestic with bringing our favorite foods from outside into our home. By the way...Hannah loves sushi too(california rolls)! We had a big Birthday Party for Marshall on Saturday. We invited some friends and family over to celebrate! We had pizza, cake, and ice-cream to our hearts content! Our dear friend's David and Heather, who we've known for many years, invited us to their new beautiful home. They have a brand new house that is gorgeous to say the least. I pretty much walked around in envy. They have a cute little baby girl named Haley who is a little younger than Marshall. However, Haley is walking and is very smart. Not that Marshall isn't smart...he's just not walking yet. Which is fine by me, I am in no hurry to have a little toddler. We had such a good time with them. According to Hannah it was Valentime's Day!
Today was a fun day! Hannah had a great day at pre-school where they all gave eachother Valentine's day cards. I was so proud of her because she signed all the cards all by herself. She has very nice handwriting so far. She also made me the cutest Valentine Card.
Josh and I don't typically celebrate Valentine's Day. But today I was surprised when I got home...I had received a dozen long stem red roses and the sweetest card. It was so lovely and thoughtful of him. I really enjoyed today and I felt very loved! I hope everyone else had a Happy Valentine's Day!!!

I know its been awhile for a new post. I guess I have been a little busy. I recently changed my schedule and after 3 years of working nights 3pm-11pm. I am now working the day shift 7am-3pm. Its been a hard adjustment for me (mornings aren't my best time)! The kids on the other hand are loving life. My dear friend Stacy is watching the kids for me while I'm at work and they both love her. She has a huge house with tons of toys and freedom to run and play. Stacy has 3 kids, Bryson (8) Carsen (4) and Ella (3) the younger 2 are at home during the day and are a perfect match for Hannah. They love Marshall even though he's still a little young for them. Everyday that I've picked up the kids Hannah doesn't want to come home, thats how much fun its been for her. I have to say being a working Mom is probably the hardest challenge I've had so far in my life. I would give anything to be a full time stay at home Mom. Its just not feasible for us right now. I know its hard for Josh too. For several years we've worked alternating schedules to care for the kids but we have come to realize how much we missed each other. It really has been nice to sit down and have dinner together and have family time besides on the weekends. I know in time it will get easier...and this too shall pass. I'll just have to be patient. Its worth it though...my family means everything to me.

For the first time, Hannah snook downstairs Christmas morning to peak at her presents! When she realized she got what she asked Santa for she came upstairs so excited and told Josh and I. Thanksgiving was amazing for us this year. We spent it with Josh's parents, his brother Chris and future sister in-law Ashley. We had such a relaxing day. The weather was out of the ordinary...very warm, mid 70's. So we did spend a lot of time outside throwing the football and Hannah riding her scooter. Dinner was so good...so good. Even Marshall enjoyed some mashed and sweet potatoes. After we ate everyone went into the turkey induced coma. The pictures show us a little sleepy after we ate. All in all we had a great time and it was so nice to spend the day with our loved ones. I even ate some pumpkin pie for the first time.

Emilie and Joey's Visit

We were so excited when we found out Emilie and Joey were coming to visit. I really enjoyed seeing Hannah play with her cousin Joey. They are only 4 months apart. Due to an unexpected stomach bug and a lot of rain, we really kept the visit low key. We played games, did puzzled, and did some geneology.

While Emilie was here she wanted to go to all of her favorite restaurants from when she lived here. So we went to lunch at our favorite sushi place and went out for Vietnamese soup.

Kathy, Emilie's great friend, joined us for Sushi. The kids enjoyed watching the chef prepare the food right in front of them. He was very cute and entertaining for the kids.

Heritage Arts & Craft Festival

We had so much fun in West Virginia. We went to an annual Arts & Crafts Festival. Hannah was intrigued by watching the bees make honey.

Hannah started pre-school last week for the first time. She goes to this great school on Tuesday's and Thursday's. I do most of my communicating with her teacher (Ms. Lorra) via e-mail. I received the most amazing update from her teacher. I will post it for all to read. I am not usually one to brag but sometimes I am just so proud. You will have to forgive me.

I wanted to send you a quick email because drop off and pickup is always crazy and I don't always have a chance to talk with parents about the school day. I wanted to let you know how very impressed I am with Hannah's first week and her abilities. She truly is adjusting well to preschool and is doing great during circle time. I only had to ask her a couple of times to stop climbing on Carsen, but I now understand there's a history there with the two of them. She's doing great with participating and sang the "b" song solo both on Tuesday and Thursday. That was awesome! Her coloring skills are absolutely amazing. I'm not just saying that. Most girls this age are able to color better than the boys because they develop fine motor skills quicker, which is needed for coloring details. However, most girls are not able to finish an entire page, nor are they nearly as good at staying in the lines. Amazing!I'm glad to hear she started writing the letter "B". It's amazing how much stuff they pick up at this age! Talk with you soon -Lorra

We were so impressed by the Art and Talent Boston had to offer. Everywhere you turn throughout the city you see people sharing their skills and talents to entertain and of course for some profit. We saw a group of men break dancing, a native American playing a unique whistle instrument, a man singing in the Subway, a charicature artist, and many more! Long time!

Marshall was so tired from all the excitement....He finally met all of his extended family. They loved him and thought he looked just like his Daddy! This swing was a life saver.

Sorry it's been so long since my last entry. Vacation was a blast! Coming home and getting back into the swing of things has been a little rough. I will mostly post pictures and describe them....so much to cover. Basically the Festa was GREAT and then we spent several days in Boston which was probably my favorite part of our trip. My Marriott hook-ups rocked! We stayed at a full service property 10 minutes from Boston and was so close to the T (subway). Went into Boston everyday!

We are so lucky to have 2 great children! They are everything to us! It's the best feeling in the world to be a Mom and have a family!

We are on our way to Massachusettes...in.....18 hours! Yeah!!! All the preparation was worth it. However, we did not get a new car yet! We are hoping to either while on vacation or when we get back. Why on vacation you say? Because it we will be gone over Labor Day weekend and we know there will be sales and major incentives so we are open to anything.We've done some test driving and I really like the Saturn Outlook, and the GMC Acadia. It is a lot of work to buy a car making sure you are not getting ripped off.

So packing today and then bon voyage! I thought I should post a few pics so Grandma and Papa and all extended family can see the kids!

So much to do...so little time!

So.....where do I start? We leave for our road trip to Mass. on Wednesday and we are considering buying a new car before the trek Josh and I can not decide on the car. We definitly want bigger. We currently drive a Jeep Liberty Renegade which we love! It has been such a great car. We just need more space. We have been looking at the crossovers which are all very spacious. The Chrylser Pacifica, Saturn's Outlook, The GMC Acadia, The Buick's Enclave....and many more. I like them all but I just feel so confused about whether we really need a new car or if we are just experiencing a few growing pains. I think about how Europeans drive the smallest cars and don't need these ginormous vehicles...why do we? Granted car seats are a big factor...I mean Hannah sits behind me in the car and is constantly kicking the back of my seat. Not much leg room. We will be out dealing with the vultures tomorrow.

So that's just one thing on my list....
Then there's packing, cleaning the house because my Dad is coming to house/pet sit for us, Work my normal job, look for a new job(another story), and be a MOM!!!(that's my favorite part).

I also must say I can't wait for our trip. Its like the anticipation of Christmas. It brings our family so much joy to be near our extended family and enjoy their company.

FYI: Marshall is doing much better with solids.

Marshall is trying so hard to be a big boy by eating his cereal w/ applesauce.I know what your thinking....he wears it so well!
I guess he would rather eat his toes!

Today was another failed attempt to feed Marshall solids. Up until now he was only being breast-fed and now he needs more, so I have made a few attempts with rice cereal and some other baby food. He isn't quite getting it. It ends up all over his face and hands. Anyone have any advise?

Hannah loves the Festa because she likes to dance when the band plays. She also loves the rides!

These pictures are of the the church grounds, just to give you an idea of how crowded it can be. These are taken from the back porch to show you that we have great access to the event. (These pictures are from last year)

We are off to Grandma Jean's house in 9 days. We go to this small town in Massachusettes every labor day weekend. That is where Josh's side of the family is from. They are blessed to have Portuguese heritage. Josh's Grandfather (Grandpa Jessie) who is now deceased was from Portugal. His family immigrated here 75 years ago. They got off the ship and settled right there in that small portuguese community and never moved once. He owned and ran a TV/repair shop. His basement is full of old TV equipment and invoices from th 60's. Its pretty incredible that he was able to move here to America and live the dream. He married his neighborhood sweetheart..and had 4 beautiful daughters. He was an amazing man. Not many words but when he did speak he was very funny and had the BEST sense of humor! He had such an impact on my honey. He spoke to Josh in Portuguese and tried to keep the culture in him. Josh really embraces that side of his heritage. Grandma Jean is so cute we call her "peppy" because once she was pulled over for speeding and she told the police officer its because her car is so peppy. She is such a fun, warm, loving, and hillarious woman.

We go up once a year for the FESTA. Its a Portuguese fesival that ( Ibeleive , not totally sure)is based on a religious experience. In Portugal, in the early 1900's, they say 3 little children saw Mary and that was a miracle. So the celebration is in honor of that event. Its held on the church grounds of a church called "Our Lady of Fatima". The church grounds are right behind Josh's Grandparents house. The festival includes carnival rides, Portuguese music "Live", great authentic food, and you feel like your in another country because everyone speaks Portuguese. All announcements and even the outdoor mass is all spoken in Portuguese.

Its a really amazing place and I feel so lucky to be apart of this family. Its essentially a family reunion because everyone comes. As far as California, Oregon, and us in Virginia. Its nice to embrace your roots and feel apart of a community like that. We look forward to it like it was Christmas. We can hardly wait. Plus this will be everyone's first time meeting Marshall....very exciting!

So I have to laugh at myself because today was one of those "blonde days" you could say. I work at a Marriott near DC by a very popular concert arena. I was at work today and a bunch of raggedy somewhat aged looking men with bad hair and torn up jeans were hanging out in my lobby. They kept asking me for this and that so I was put off by all of their demands. They wanted to know where the nearest Starbucks was and I was trying to give them directions when one guy caught a glimpse at my name tag and was like "oh your name is Melissa"....I smiled and then he said "Are you sweet"? I was like," what? Gross! Old men flirting with me." Anyways they kept talking about the band and all the equipment and stuff. I thought they were just a bunch of wanna bees with bad hair. After the guys left my front desk for like the 5th time I looked at my boss and said "I bet they can't even play and that they probably stink." My boss was like, "Melissa, that's not just some band that's the Allman Brothers". I was like get out! My husband loves them he downloaded a song called "Melissa" by them. All the sudden I figured out what they meant by their earlier comment about..."are you sweet?" Part of the song is sweet Melissa...I'm such a moron. When I told my husband he was cracking up. He said he was going to make me listen to the song "Melissa" everyday. Go ahead and laugh! Its ok! I am!

Going to the County Fair

We had a great time this weekend because we spent a day at the County Fair. I was able to get free tickets from work that included an all day pass for rides. Hannah couldn't have been happier! We started the day checking out the livestock. The cows, pigs, goats, and chickens. It was fun for Hannah, she was able to pet some of the animals. We enjoyed a bluegrass show....and then the RIDES!!!! Hannah was begging from the time we entered "now can we go on some rides?" The anticipation killed her. All in all we had a great time. Good food (funnel cake of course) and Good fun!

Late Again!

When I got to work, I was over an hour late and was met by my 2 Superiors who asked me to come in their office (head hanging down). I knew what was to come. I was scolded and told that they were a little disappointed in me. I apologized and did what any other person does.....I blamed my husband. After all it was his fault. He was running behind which in turn caused me to run behind. My boss's recommend that I get a babysitter that is reliable and can help out in times like this. You know what I was thinking? Are they paying or am I gonna get a raise that would cover this cost? In all seriousness though... I love my job and I don't want to disappoint my team. I need the benefits and the extra cash...for hobbies. So, I will have to consult with my honey about this sticky situation. I don't want to be late ever again!

Book Club!

So I joined a book club about a year ago and how many books have I read you ask? Not one! I am so bad. I still go to the gatherings and just listen to everyone and end up thinking to myself I should've read that book. I am just too busy and I guess the time I could be reading I am blogging and reading other blogs. So I guess I am reading but just in a different format. Anyways I have book club tonight and I of course didn't read it. The book is called The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. It is supposed to be really good...my sister is the one who chose it. Oh well! Maybe I can see the movie when it comes out...haha! Anyways, I just got home from work another great day! I love my job no stress and not much responsability. Just the way I want it. I have too much on my plate at home that it makes it nice that I can atleast enjoy my job while I am at work. The best part of my day is when I get home and get to be with my husband and kids. I need to go spend time with the kiddies before I go to book club. So this is me signing off! Peace Out!!!!

Time Management

I always have time to enjoy my two wonderful children! I am so blessed.

Time Management is something I struggle with. I find myself always rushing and trying to meet deadlines. I am the type of person who needs to have some down time everyday just forME. I use this to eitherunwind or prepare for my hectic day. My ideal routine would be soemthing like this......
8am- go to the gym(my intentions are good)
10 am- run errands ie; grocery shop, bank drops, anything related to running our business and household.
12 pm- lunch either home or out...usually out:)
1:30 pm- kids down for nap or quiet time...my time!
3:00 pm- I leave for work(3 days a week) or I am home cleaning and doing laundry.
5:00 pm- start preparing dinner, figure out what to make.
6:00 pm- The honey(Josh) comes home from work, dinner time.
7:00 pm- Family time; reading, playing, watching TV together.
8:00 pm - baths for kids.
8:30 pm- bed time for kids.
8:45 pm- Josh and I are alone!!!!!( Hopefully with no interruptions)
10:00 pm- Quick tidy of the house.
11:00 pm- Sweet Dreams
This would be my dream schedule! Now I just have to make it happen. That means at this point in my day I am way behind schedule. I am heading out to run errands in about 20 minutes. That is where I will start today. The good news is I have the day off from the Marriott for the next 2 days! I can play catch up and get to the things done that I have neglected. I will post more later because I'm sure I will have something to say.....perhaps? Let the fun begin!

Let's try this again! I created a blog about 2 years ago and was unable or should I say unmotivated to keep it updated. I thought back then my life was uneventful and not much to talk about. Now I have 2 kids, a dog, a full time job, and not enough time to shave my legs. So why am I making another attempt? I really enjoy reading other blogs and thought I would benefit from getting the creative juices flowing and being able to vent here and there. My shrink did say I need to talk about my feelings and not keep them all bottled up. So here we are.

I really have nothing to rant and rave about today! However I do have a lot to brag about... I have a great life! I'm blessed with an amazing husband who I had the gift of knowing and dating since I was a Junior in High School. In a way we grew up together. One of the joys we have is that we can share so many memories. We love to reminisce about the good old days. We were married on June 22nd 2001. Life was great. Then a little over 2 years later we had our first child...Hannah Marie. Then we were recently blessed with our 2nd child...Marshall Camden. It is such a pleasure and honor to be a Mom. It's really all I've ever wanted! To be a wife and mother.
